(Disability Support)

 Gives support to individuals with a disability and their whānau so that they are able to live and work as independently as possible in their communities.  Able to offer advice and advocacy for those unfamiliar with the disabilities sector. 

Te Taihāhā is whānau centered, sensitive to the needs and aspirations of whānau living with disabilities Te Taihāhā has access to and relevant information and advocacy support essential in planning required to meet the support needs of the individual.


Together with individuals and whānau, Te Taihāhā works to increase their abilities towards independence through:

  • Advocating within the Health and Disability Sector

  • Support for independent Living

  • ACC Home Based rehabilitation

  • Short-term home support services

  • Home based support & community services for people of all ages

  • Long term home based support – Chronic health conditions

  • Coordination and support for kaumātua initiatives

  • Residential services
