Te Oranganui Trust is an iwi organisation established in 1993 to improve access and service delivery of health services to Māori in the wider Whanganui region. Over time the roles and functions of the organisation have grown and the organisation now delivers a wide range of health and social services to all people throughout the Whanganui and neighbouring regions.

About you

As one of our Practice Nurses you will be compassionate, comfortable working within a Kaupapa Māori organisation and have a good understanding of a culturally appropriate service delivery.  You will have strong professional ethics and a holistic approach that is patient and whānau centred.   You will be solution focused and be able to build positive relationships with other Practice team members and wider Te Oranganui staff.  Being flexible, adaptable and a critical thinker will be additional strengths as you’ll find that no two days are the same.

 

This role is covered by the government’s COVID-19 vaccination mandate for the health and disabilities sector. This means that it is a requirement that this role is undertaken by a fully vaccinated person (or a person who holds a valid exemption issued by the Director-General of Health).

 

What you’ll bring to the role

In this role you will have the opportunity to use your professional experience to deliver comprehensive clinical assessments to our enrolled population.   

 

You will need to;

  • Be a Registered Nurse and have a current Annual Practice Certificate

  • Have a passion for Māori health and commitment to whānau, Hapū and Iwi

  • Have Practice nurse and/or community nursing experience

  • Have Excellent communication skills

  • Be Immunisation and Cervical Screening certified

  • Full Drivers license as some travel may be required
