Cervical Screening Day

Updated: Aug 27

Sunday 30th August 2020 is National Cervical Screening Day and to help promote the day, Te Waipuna Health are holding FREE cervical screening clinics for our clients and non-enrolled patients at the Whanganui clinic from 10am-1pm this Sunday 30th August.

We will also be holding evening clinics every Tuesday and Thursday until 7pm throughout the month of September. No appointments are needed, just come on in!

Its important for our wāhine to be screened regularly, particularly our wāhine Māori as Māori are 3 times more likely to die from cervical cancer than non-māori. So, if you are wāhine and have a cervix, or you have a māmā, tuahine, kuia, aunty, female cousins, daughters – ask if they have had their cervical screening recently and encourage them to go.

Protect your health, protect your whakapapa!! A smear only takes 5 mins, the impacts of cervical cancer last a lifetime.

For more information, give the team at Te Waipuna Health a call on 06 349 0037 or pop down and see them at 57 Campbell Street, Whanganui.
