Toiora Whānau is the Whānau and Community Service at Te Oranganui that delivers support to whānau who require assistance to lead healthy lifestyles, participate fully in society, and to ensure economically secure and successful lives by developing pathways to independence.  

We are seeking a Kaitūruki Youth Justice Coordinator to join the Rangatahi team in Toiora Whānau. The purpose of this role is to ensure that children and young people are in loving families and communities where they can be safe, strong, connected and able to flourish. 

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Competently understanding of the Oranga Tamariki Act and how it relates to youth offending/processes

  • Youth Development Degree (desirable)

  • Experience working with high and complex rangatahi and their whanau

  • Case management skills

  • Consolidated relationships

  • Experience working in a bi-cultural environment

  • Experience in facilitation, mentoring and advocating for rangatahi/youth

  • Experience in narrative theory and exploration
