Te Oranganui manages a Corrections contract specific to the Whanganui Prison. This is an exciting role based at the Te Tirohanga Māori Focus Unit, Whanganui Prison to facilitate a Kaupapa Māori Alcohol and Drug programme as part of a team of 9 staff. There is also an opportunity to work with our after care community group which is marae based.
It is preferred that the facilitator has either a social work registration and/or suitable DAPAANZ qualification. A good knowledge of Kaupapa Māori process and lived experience in recovery would be an advantage. A commitment to training would be required. A full induction and a slow transition would be provided. The experience is rewarding and aroha and compassion is essential.
