Waiora Hinengaro, the Vocations, Mental Health and Addiction Services, has a vacancy for a casual mental health support worker who will support the recovery and wellness journeys of tangata whai ora with mental health and alcohol and other drug issues. The work will include nurturing the fundamental values of Tikanga Māori as well as working with tangata whai ora in their day to day lives. The settings include a residential home and a Day Activity service.
The ideal applicant will have a passion for the health and wellbeing of Iwi, be committed to providing the best possible care and work very well with others. Your communication must be effective with all people in all settings. It would be good it you have a NZQA Level 4 Certificate that allows you to work in a mental health setting or experience in working in mental health and or alcohol and other drug work. You will need to be computer literate, and have a full drivers license.
The role is a casual position for work across seven days and 24 hours a day.
