Te Oranganui is a health and social service provider based in Whanganui and offers a wide range of services including Vocation, Mental Health & Addictions, Disability Support, Whānau & Community Support and Primary Health and Medical to all people within the Whanganui and neighbouring regions.
Waiora Hinengaro/Vocations, Mental Health and Addiction Services has a vacancy for a mental health support worker who will support the recovery and wellness journeys of tangata whai ora with mental health and alcohol and other drug issues. The work will include nurturing the fundamental values of Tikanga Māori.
The ideal applicant will have a passion for the health and wellbeing of people, be committed to providing the best possible care and work very well with others. Understanding the application of whare tapa whā in your work and effective communication is a must.
A NZQA Level 4 Certificate in mental health or alcohol and drug work is desired or the commitment to complete a qualification is required. You must be computer literate and have a full driver’s license.
The role is from 8.15am to 3.45pm, Monday to Friday and based at the residential service, Te Whare Mahana and includes working in the community.
