Kaitūruki Raraunga - Data Analyst Support (Te Taituarā)

About the role

Based in beautiful Whanganui Te Oranganui is a kaupapa Māori organisation who offers a range of health and wellbeing services for whānau in the Whanganui region and surrounding districts. 

 

Te Taituarā is the business unit of Te Oranganui and is the one service that supports all other Te Oranganui services internally from a back office perspective.

 

Te Taituarā team (Support Services) aims to provide a seamless and highly efficient engine-room support team to kaimahi and whānau. This team contributes to the organisation’s strategic mission through:

  • Ensuring kaimahi are provided the right tools and support to get their job done

  • Maintain effective performance and compliance across the organisation

  • Provide an interface for the public to obtain and engage in our services

About the role

This is an entry-level position for at least 7 months to cover maternity leave and transition. The Kaitūruki Raraunga – Data Analyst Support will work as part of the Te Taituarā to support data collection both internally and externally across a variety of platforms. This role will involve assisting with data entry and processing for reporting, monitoring and strategic planning purposes.

About you

You will have:

  • Have previous data entry experience

  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving and trouble shooting

  • Have a strong broad-based computer skillset with knowledge of MS

  • Be able to produce high quality work, display a high attention to detail

  • Be able to work as part of a team and/or independently

Who You Are

Qualifications

  • Tertiary level qualification (Level 6 or higher) in data analytics, information systems or similar; or

  • Experience in roles involving data analytics, surveys and/or

  • Willingness to undertake training in Data Apprenticeship, Power BI and/ or GIS (geographical information system)

 

Experienc

  • Exposure and/or skills with extracting, analysing, and presenting data using relevant software including (but not limited to) Microsofe Office 365 (Excel, Powerpoint, Access etc), MedTech Evolution, Whānau Tahi, FS Net, QGIS/ ArcGIS would be advantageous

  • Understanding of reporting & data visualisation tools such as PowerBI

  • Demonstrated experience or interest to learn about gathering and integrating data from disparate sources

  • Sound knowledge of information management

  • Some understanding of statistical analysis techniques would be an advantage

  • Some knowledge of business performance reporting requirements

  • Some knowledge of health information systems

  • Some knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and policies that support Te Oranganui business processes

  • Working understanding of Te Tiriti and Whānau Ora

Essential Skills

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Proficient in software and applications including Microsoft Office 365 suite, especially Excel tools

  • Technical computer, digital, data manipulation skills and analytic skills

  • Ability to make sound judgement and analysis

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
