Te Oranganui is a health and social service provider based in Whanganui and offers a wide range of services to all people within the Whanganui and neighboring regions. Free services available include Mental Health & Addictions, Disability Support, Whānau & Community and Healthy Families. Te Oranganui Medical Centre and its associated services such as Tamariki Ora, Rural Community Nurse and the Quit Smoking clinic are also available. 

 

Te Oranganui is leading out the Whānau Ora approach in the region.  This approach works beyond treatment to sustained wellness for whānau, hapū, iwi and the wider community. 

 

Te Oranganui has a vacancy for a Kaitūruki - Family Start to focus on building whānau to achieve outcomes and work with their tamariki to have the best start in life.  This role works across health, education, justice and social outcome domains.

 

It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of information and communication technology; committed to empowering and supporting whānau; community engagement and development skills. Your communication must be effective with all people in all settings.

 

The successful applicant must have the following;

  • Qualification (Level 7 or higher) in social work or health;

  • At least 2+ years’ experience working in a similar role;

  • Established network base within the Health, Social & Disability sector;

  • Current Practising Certificate with relevant professional body;

  • Registered with relevant professional body.
