Te Oranganui is an iwi led organisation that was established in 1993 to improve access and service delivery of health services to Māori in the Whanganui region. Over time the roles and functions have grown and the organisation now delivers a range of health and social services throughout the region to Māori and non-Māori Whānau. Te Oranganui is leading out the Whānau Ora approach in the region. This approach works beyond treatment to sustained wellness for whānau, hapū , iwi and the wider community.
We are seeking a Team Leader to work within our residential setting to assist our clients develop and practical life skills including, behaviour management, communication, coping and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will;
hold a National qualification in youth development, mental health or care and support or acceptable equivalent (Level 4 and above)
have experience with working with people with challenging behaviours
experience developing rapport with people with intellectual an behavioural disabilities
initiative and sound judgement, with an ability to ‘think on their feet’
a strong team player and positive role model
flexible, reliable, organised, adaptable and resilient
excellent verbal and written communication skills and good computer literacy
