Residential Support Worker

Waiora Hinengaro (Vocations, Mental Health and Addiction Services) has a vacancy for a mental health support worker who will support the recovery and wellness journeys of tangata whai ora with mental health and alcohol and other drug issues. The work will include nurturing the fundamental values of Tikanga Māori and be based at the Residential Service - Te Whare Mahana.
The ideal applicant will have a passion for the health and wellbeing of people, be committed to providing the best possible care and work very well with others. Understanding the application of whare tapa whā in your work and effective communication is a must. Using your initiative you will find new and creative ways for tangata whai ora to participate in their communities.
A NZQA Level 4 Certificate in mental health or alcohol and drug work is desired or the commitment to do a qualification is required. You must be computer literate, and have a full drivers license.
The role is a rostered and rotating position where the roster covers after hours from 3.30 pm to 8.30 am Monday to Friday and full weekends. If you are interested in this position, please download an application pack from our website today.
