Te Oranganui is an iwi led organisation that was established in 1993 to improve access and service delivery of health services to Māori in the Whanganui region. Over time the roles and functions have grown and the organisation now delivers a range of health and social services throughout the region to Māori and non-Māori Whānau.
Te Oranganui Mental Health and Addictions service has a vacancy for a kaituhauora to work in the Residential House to support tangata whai ora in their recovery and wellness journey. You will have an understanding and commitment to improving health for Maori, open to different perspectives of tangata whai ora, believe in and can implement the recovery approach.
Your communication must be effective with all people in all settings, you must be able to work in a team, be computer literate, and have a full drivers license.
A national qualification level 4 or equivalent/ higher in mental health and/or alcohol and other drug work. The successful applicant will work seven days on, seven days off including sleepovers. This is a fixed term contract until the 31 August 2019.
