Te Oranganui is an iwi led organisation that was established in 1993 to improve access and service delivery of health services to Māori in the Whanganui region.  Over time the roles and functions have grown and the organisation now delivers a range of health and social services throughout the region to Māori and non-Māori Whānau.  Te Oranganui is leading out the Whānau Ora approach in the region.  This approach works beyond treatment to sustained wellness for whānau, hapū , iwi and the wider community. 

Te Oranganui Mental Health and Addictions service has a vacancy for a kaituhauora to work in the Day Activity to support tangata whai ora in their recovery and wellness journey. You will use the fundamental values of Tikanga Maori, whanau ora and the skills and knowledge of mental health and alcohol and other drug work. Your role includes

· Developing, coordinating and facilitating the Day Activity Programmes

· Working on individual goals with tangata wha ora attending the programme

· Supporting tangata whai ora with options to participate in their community


 Your communication must be effective with all people in all settings, you must be able to work in a team, be computer literate, and have a full drivers license. 


A national qualification L4 or equivalent/ higher in mental health and alcohol and other drug work or a commitment to work towards this is essential for this role. It is for 30 hours per week,  Monday to Friday.
