Pahake / Adult | Takaro Tawhito - Traditional Maori GamesOur Takaro Tawhito program focuses on revitalising traditional Maori sports and games. Our coordinator works mainly within the kura and schools however she also supports the local Ki O Rahi adult modules and tournaments
The basis of this programme is kaupapa Māori driven and is delivered through wananga, promotion and a series of modules.
Ki O Rahi is currently the main focus however; there are a number of Māori Traditional Games that are supported by Takaro Tawhito which includes Tapuwae, Hakariki, Mutorere, Poi Toa and Waka.
