Advocacy Support
All Maori patients hospitalised at Good Health Whanganui are visited daily by the Hospital Liaison Officer. These visits allow patients to express any concerns they may have regarding their hospital care and our Officer can advocate on their behalf. They endeavour to ensure clients are cared for in an appropriate manner that is consistent with tikanga. They also provide social support and follow up support visits where required.
Emergency accommodation is available at Mauri Ora to those who live out of the Whanganui area. This house is situated on the hospital grounds and within walking distance to the hospital wards.
